Private Selections Review & Recipe

Another great product to review from BzzAgent! One of my campaigns is the Private Selection Campaign from Kroger. Kroger carries Private Selection products, which are high end, gourmet products available at your nearest Kroger store. I received in my Bzz Kit:

  • Coupon for $3 off $10 spend on Private Selection Angus Beef
  • Coupon for Free Private Selection Artisan Bread
  • Coupon for Free Private Selection Preserves
  • Coupon for Free Private Selection Rub
  • Coupon for Free Private Selection Dark Amber Maple Syrup
  • Coupon for Free Private Selection Panko Breadcrumbs
If you would like to try these wonderful products, please email me your address and I'll mail you a coupon good for 20% off any of the above Private Selection items, less the Angus Beef product.

I chose to purchase Angus Skirt Steak and Angus Ground Beef in order to meet the $10.00 criteria for the $3.00 off coupon. There is also other steaks to choose from as well as pork products. For the bread product, I chose Cibatta bread. For the preserves, I chose apple butter. For the rub, I chose peppercorn. For the Panko breadcrumbs, I chose a sesame garlic flavor. I can't wait to try out all of these wonderful products but for tonight, I chose to cook the skirt steak and this is what I came up with. I thought I'd share my original recipe with you below. I hope you like it!

Private Selection Angus Peppercorn Skirt Steak with Gravy
  • (1) Package, about 1.5 lbs, of Private Selection Angus Skirt Steak found at Kroger
  • Private Selection Peppercorn Rub found at Kroger
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • (3) TBSP water
  • (2) TBSP cooking oil
  • (2 1/2) TBSP flour
  • (1) C of Water
  • Salt to taste

Preheat oven to 325. Cut steak into portion sizes. Season with peppercorn rub and Worcestershire sauce to your liking on a sheet pan. Sear both sides of steak on iron skillet for 1-2 minutes each. Replace steak onto sheet pan after searing. Add about 3 TBSP of water to the pan with the steaks. Cover with aluminum foil then bake in the oven for 30 minutes. In the meantime, add oil to heated skillet over medium high heat and wisk the 2 1/2 tablespoons of flour in the skillet for about 2-3 minutes. Add the drippings from the sheet pan the steaks were cooked on to the flour mixture in the skillet. Wisk the drippings and the 1 cup of water  in the skillet. You may need to add more water if the gravy looks too thick. Season with salt. Add the steaks to the gravy and reduce heat to medium low. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve with your choice of starch, fresh vegetable and Private Selection Cibatta bread.

New Orleans Jambalaya made with Johnsonville Andoullie Sausage

As a BzzAgent, I get free product coupons which I redeem for free products. In turn, I have to use the product and report back to BzzAgent about what I like or dislike about the product. I also am supposed to tell friends about the product and try to encourage my friends to purchase the product as well. Well, tonight, I wasn't sure what to make for dinner and I remembered I still needed to use my Johnsonville Andoullie Sausage so I looked at it and saw that there were three delicious looking recipes on the package. I chose to make the New Orleans Jambalaya because I happened to have all of the ingredients on hand. It turned out delicious and both of my boys liked it. SCORE!

This sausage sells at Kroger for $3.97 and with this $1.00 off coupon, it's only $2.97. That's a great price for sausage!

Here's the recipe. I only substituted a few things. I usually always do that with a recipe, anyway!

New Orleans Jambalaya

1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped green pepper
2 garlic cloves, minced (I didn't have any so I used some garlic powder)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 package (13.5 ounces) Johnsonville Andoullie Sausage, cut into 1/2 inch slices (I cut mine thinner)
1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes with green chilies
1 can (14.5 ounces) stewed tomatoes (I used petite diced tomatoes)
1 cup water
3/4 cup long grain white rice (I used brown rice and had to increase cooking time to almost an hour)

In a dutch oven (large pot), saute onion, green pepper, and minced garlic in oil until tender. Add sausage, tomatoes, water, and rice; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes or until rice is tender.

Option: On pound of raw shrimp, peeled and deveined may be added to Jambalaya during the last 6-8 minutes of cooking time. Cook until shrimp have turned pink.

6-8 servings. Ready in 40 minutes.

Bzz Agent ~ Review products for FREE

BzzAgent is great! A friend of mine introduced me to it. You get to test products, many of which have been around for a long time but the companies need to know how consumers feel about the products every now and then. They have BzzAgents hit up their friends and family to get an insider feel for their products to see what they can improve on.

When your a BzzAgent, you will receive a Bzz Kit and sometimes it comes with a product and coupons to give to your friends. Other times, you will receive a coupon for a free item (because it's not mail-able)  to test out.

It takes just a few minutes of your time to log into BzzAgent to review these products and for your time, you get to keep these free items! You earn a Bzz Score and the higher the score, the more campaignes you will qualify for.  When you sign up, be sure to answer all of the surveys so they know your likes and dislikes. Be patient. They will email you with campaigns that fit your profile.

Here's a sample of the campaigns going on right now:

I get really excited to get my Bzz Kits in the mail and I hope you feel the same when you get yours!   If you have any questions, please let me know and I will help you out!

Bzzzz Glade Expressions Collection

I recently became a Bzz Agent and my very first campaign was to test and get the word out on the new Glade Expressions fragrance collection.  I've actually purchased this product before in the Cotton & Italian Mandarin, Fuji Apple and Cardamom Spice, and Pineapple and Mangosteen.  The only scent that I've not been able to find is the Lavendar & Juniper Berry. I'm sure it's just as refreshing of a scent as the other three fragrances are!

Each of these scents are invigorating, refreshing, and masking.  They are not overwhelming at all. I really enjoy Cotton & Italian Mandarin for it's subtle scent and for the fact that it really works with any room of the house.

Both the spray and the diffusers offer a great scent for the house. The only difference is that the spray offers an instant mask for odors and the diffusers offer an around the clock mask of household odors.

Whatever scent you decide to try or whatever apparatus you decide to get whether it's the refillable starter kit for the spary or the refillable diffuser kit for the oil, you will not be disappointed. Glade once again put out a great product!

Ask me for $2.00 off coupons for the spray and $4.00 off coupons for the diffuser kits!
